Week Twooooo

This week was a lot better than last week. Thank you for praying. It has gotten a TON hotter up here and it apparently gets way hotter. Eww. We did the normal schedule (see previous post) everyday but Wednesday. On Wednesday we went into "town" (i.e. Redding) with all the girls and saw "Soul Surfer" at the dollar theater. We then went to a park and bridge called "Sundial Bridge" which is apparently the world's largest sundial...not sure whether that is like how every coffee shop says "World's Best Coffee" or not, but it was fun! We ate there and a lot of the girls got into the Sacramento River. I then went with another staff member to the doctor with one of the girls and picked up another girl from the airport. She was returning from a parent visit.

Two of the staff members from my boarding school, who are now the directors of the school in the Dominican Republic, are coming to tour JYA on Tuesday. I am really excited to see them. I didn't know them very well but their daughter worked with the other girl house in Indiana and the woman (hah that sounds funny) was a teacher during my last summer in Indiana. They know the founder/CEO of JYA.

Tomorrow I am heading to Sacramento to see my friend, Rachel. I cannot express how excited I am for that. :)

Prayers: That I would continue to learn to look to God as my source of comfort and safety and not to people/things. Two of our girls ran away this morning at 3am-ish--that they would be safe, found and have their hearts changed towards their time at JYA.

Love you and miss you.
